Some Information on "The Conversation"

In the next Cinebanter episode (scheduled to air on April 18), Michael and Tassoula will review a 1974 film from Francis Ford Coppola titled THE CONVERSATION. For those who may also be watching the movie for the first time, here's a little background on it:

  • It has a Metacritic score of 86.
  • Gene Siskel named it his #4 film in his 1974 Top Ten List.
  • Roger Ebert liked it too.
  • Francis Ford Coppola claims it is his favorite among his own movies.
  • The film's outline was written in 1966, but financing didn't happen until Coppola's THE GODFATHER became a hit.
  • It was nominated for the Best Picture Oscar in 1975, but lost to the director's other film: THE GODFATHER II

The hosts hope you'll join them for this "Cinebanter Film School" episode.
